Finally. I finally made the Mini Hudson’s. Now I need to buy a new white board. Give me a few months.
I’ve actually had these Hudson’s cut out for over a year! But it turned out perfect because she’s small and there is no way the size 2 would have fit her then. She’ll be three in a couple weeks.
I love how they turned out, but the fabric quality leaves much to be desired. I find that so, so disappointing after taking precious time to sew something and it ends up looking badly after one wear.
Now that I’ve learned my lesson, I will make another pair once I find better quality fabric for them. Sometimes those inexpensive prices lure me in, plus the print is so adorable on these and I’d been looking for floral ponte.
This is ponte knit from fabric.com, and it’s no longer sold. Maybe because of the quality? It pilled up just awful while she was wearing–no, I take it back. Even while sewing I could see how much it was going to pill.
I have yet to find a ponte knit that doesn’t pill, so please, if you know of some good quality, pass that information along and enlighten my ponte-deficient buying ways.
She’s pretty thrilled with the pockets. She puts her “keys” and lots of rocks in them. It’s like a present each time I do laundry.
Comfort + fashion? Win win. Now I need to make myself a pair.
