I used Char’s tutorial for hemming jeans HERE to shorten these capris. They were getting really stretched out around the knee area and frumpy looking to me. It wasn’t helping that my legs were so white, eh?
It was a bit tricky because of the tapering out portion at the bottom of the capris, but they are now my most worn, most comfortable pair of shorts. Legs still = white, but with a bit of color due to some lotion tanner. I love that stuff. I probably should have applied about 10 coats to resemble a tan, but at least they aren’t as bad as before!
I’ve started to run/superfastwalk 3 times a week. My boys ride their bikes while I push B in the stroller. It feels GREAT to be exercising again! Doesn’t the woman below look like she’s having fun? I do not look like that while running. But I also don’t where jeans and a turtleneck while running. (try and find a non-copyrighted ‘jogging with stroller’ image—it wasn’t easy!)
In other news, hubby turned 33 on Sunday. He’s the best :).
I have a ton of projects on hold. I’ve even been feeling like sewing a little more the past couple days (though I haven’t had a chance). It’s weird how slowing down on this blog made me feel behind in so many other areas of my life. So I’m hoping to start incorporating at least a little sewing in once a week.
Thanks for still stopping by, even when things are slow around here!

I love the shorts! Great idea and I’m def. going to have to check out the tute on that! :)

‘superfastwalking’ hahahaha. My kinda excercise. I do zumba but its once a week and lets not kid ourselves, eating donuts or cookie or seven once in a while kind of nulls out working out once in a week. I still manage to be slowly and steadily skinnifying but I’m pretty sure that skinnifying and being fit are two completely different creatures all together. I’m pretty sure the skinnifying is just a happy side effect of being the primary source of nourishment for an early crawler.

I love the new shorts! I have some jeans that I’ve been thinking about turning into capris since the hem is so torn up. Now that I have a good tutorial I can eventually do it! I also have been starting a more regular exercise regime and am loving being active again. Tis’ the season :). Have a good week!

Your shorts look perfect! I JUST donated a few paris of capris. I wish I would have thought to try and turn them into shorts…dang! I have big plans to start exercising starting next week when we move to UTAH for 4 months. We will be living with my in-laws in Sandy until Paul starts his Seattle job in November. I would love to get together with you!!

I need to do this to a pair of my capris that are frumpy but comfy. I did change some pants to capris the other day though. That was fun!

I don’t look like that when I run either….last month an elderly gent asked me if I needed soem medical attention while I was running on the treadmill at my gym. “No sir,” I replied, I always look like this when I run”. “Well honey, you really look like a heart attack. And you’re not even running that fast” says he.
I got “served” by a 70 year man in a John Deere cap.
