Disclaimer: Please excuse the pictures. I had a cranky 12 year old taking them and the first set my head was partially, or entirely, cut off in each picture, with a perfect circle glare right on my face which we could try and pass as artistic style on his part. Then I told him he had to take them again. Which could be why the second set of pictures were all out of focus. I think he did it to spite me. At this point I let him return to his Ninjago show simply to keep the peace between us.
I’m so glad I made this top! It’s the Santa Fe Top by Adrianna at Hey June, view C. And if you’ll notice, I found some fabric very similar to what she uses in one of her pictures–it’s actually the picture that sold me on the pattern, and when I found a very large skirt at Family Dollar with similar fabric, I snatched it up with this top in mind and barely had enough. I did check Joann first because I know that’s where Adrianna bought her fabric, but our little store didn’t carry it.
Like I said after posting the Zippy Top, I don’t sew often for myself. But I have ALWAYS bought women’s patterns with hopes of someday sewing more for myself. I have loads of patterns I’ve bought for myself over the last few years. Normally when there were great sales, and then I never seemed to make the time to sew them up.
I really love this top. It came together fairly quickly and I just love the fit. Nice and flowy but still flattering–I think Adrianna even uses that description herself and well, she’s not a liar. It’s soooo comfortable as well. Adrianna includes so many options/views in all her patterns, I feel you really get a wonderful bargain for your money with the variety of items you can make.
Have I ever told you about this creepy shed in the back of our rental? It’s creepy. People mention it when they come over. Don’t be surprised if you see something looking back at you behind me in a picture with the shed–a pair of ghostly eyes perhaps. Or a very large black widow. Equally as scary. And definitely a high chance of the spider thing happening. I killed 9 black widows outside this rental the very first day I stopped by to see it. I dreamed of spiders for weeks.
But arm me with a strong spray and a cute shirt and I’m happy again. See?

Gah spiders!! I’ve never found a venomous one or I’d never sleep again. Your creepy shed is perfect for a photo backdrop though! You know I love this, thank you so much for sharing!!
