Craft With Your Kids Week: Project Four

10/20/2010 By Christie

I took my kids up one of the canyons near us last week, so we could play in the leaves and collect some for a simple craft.

It was beautiful.  Not as colorful as some years, but still gorgeous and so refreshing to be in such pretty surroundings.

Even Little Miss B got into the Leaf Fight they had.  DSCF2486

It was so nice to just enjoy God’s creations and the wonderful weather we’ve been having. DSCF2502

I had to remember that I was there—photos courtesy of my children.DSCF2514

Little Miss B is even throwing leaves on her own head:). DSCF2517

I’d say the time spent together gathering the leaves was the best part about this craft!DSCF2466

Yay, a perfect project for the bag of leaves my two youngest collected yesterday :) Thank you!

Looks like a blast! We tried to do this craft with a group of three year olds at Bible Storytime a few weeks back, the leaf collecting was definitely the best part, especially considering that they all smushed the leaves into smithereens trying to shove as any as possible into their tiny fists. They didn’t ‘get’ that you didn’t have to be able to close your fist around the poor leaves! Very cute though, lots of fun.

That looks like such fun, but alas, my kids will never experience that. I live in the frozen tundra, and we don’t have trees… It’s frozen and people are ice fishing right now, so that was the “craft” I did with my kids yesterday! :)

I wonder if I could order leaves from somewhere!!!

What wonderful pictures! It looks like your kiddos had so much fun. After all, what kiddo (or adult) doesn’t LOVE playing in the leaves?! Thanks for sharing!

Oh I miss those Utah mountains. NOTHING like them in the fall. Sigh. Looks like fun. What little kid doesn’t enjoy a big pile of leaves to kick through or jump in.

Maybe I should be crafting with my kids instead of just for them…ah halloween costumes!

LOVE the pictures of the mountains! Makes me miss my hometown. I live in the deep south now, where there is no fall…
I’ve literally had to use fake fall leaves to make crafts with my son :( pathetic.
