Hello! Today I’m going to show you a dress that I made for Ruby that I love! I made Bailey a geranium dress (by Rae of Made by Rae) for Easter HERE and absolutely love it. I love the simplicity yet polished look of this dress. I think it’s just adorable.
For some family pictures we were getting done, I decided to make a little fancier version for Ruby Jane.
The top is corduroy and it’s lined with the same kona cotton fabric I used for the mint leggings found in THIS post. The fabric was a darker green—just a tad too dark to be mint, so I used some color remover in the washing machine and tada! Mint fabric. I was happy it turned just the right color that I wanted. I found this pretty lace fabric and layered it over the mint, just basting it in place and acting like the fabric was one piece in the pattern.
Things did get a bit thick with the corduroy and the two layers on the skirt, but I love how it turned out. And darnit—I didn’t get any pictures of the cute mint buttons on the back! But they are there. And they are cute. :)
Ruby + Geranium Dress = cuteness.
