Ruby Jane turned 5 months old last week! She weighed 11 lb. 11 oz. And this week weighs just 2 oz. more. She’s kind of falling off the charts, sadly. Not even at the 2% on the charts now, but she is getting closer to her surgery date, sweating more, eating a little less, and just having a bit harder time these days.
But she’s still so very happy!!! And her oxygen levels are staying up which is the most important indicator that she is ok.
She has tried rice cereal, green beans, and squash so far. Squash is the winner. I’m sure she’ll love sweet potatoes like all my children did—even better than the squash!
Her sedated echocardiogram was supposed to be yesterday but she got sick with a pretty bad cold and ear infection last week. They rescheduled it for next Thursday, the 21st, and her surgery will be within a week or two. So things are going to get crazy fast! Oh wait…they already are!
Lots and LOTS of things have been going on in my family. Lots of good things and lots of stressful things. And some hard and some sad. So basically, life is happening ;). But life is good and full and wonderful and hard and stressful all at the same time. So we’ll choose to focus on the good.
Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!

What a cutie pie! My babies have all loved veggies. Thought I would share this, it may help stabilize her weight. I had one child [2 at the time] go through chemo and weight was always a bit issue.

Megan, that’s a great article, thanks for sharing. We only do the solids once a day and she eats very little. We haven’t done more because it didn’t make sense to replace feedings with something with less fat. Mostly it’s so if I’m ever away from her, my husband will be able to console her. That situation hasn’t happened yet but just in case!

She is super cute. My son loved squash too. And squash is awesome for fighting off colds. If we ever get sniffles around here, we eat squash and it really helps fight it off! :) My mother in laws reaction if we’re getting a cold, “Eat some squash!” :) I hope that with all the stressful and hard things in your family, you’re able to have comfort and strength through all of them and that things work out well! :)
