Five on Friday

11/09/2012 By Christie

for five on friday

Today I’m going to link you to some very inspiring posts–posts that I think everyone can benefit from.  Be warned, you might need tissues!

1.  Remember my friend Mandie who is hoping to adopt?  Well, she linked to a wonderful article HERE and I cried through the whole thing.  It is just so good.

2.  I’m sure many of you know about the famous ladies who blog at Our Best Bites.  If you haven’t stopped by recently, and you have children or know children at all, please read THIS article and the article she links to in her post.  This so needs to be spread around.

3.  I’ve been thinking a LOT about the election this week and how people respond so differently.  Melanie from The Crafty Cupboard linked an article on FB that I had also read and thought about sharing, so I am.  The article is all about how we can disagree and still be civil and respectful towards each other.  HERE is part of the article, and it’s worth reading.

4.  This isn’t a post, but it’s a book that is on my to-read list. It’s called Kisses from Katie and sounds like a super inspiring book. Here’s a little snippet from Amazon:  “Katie Davis left over Christmas break her senior year for a short mission trip to Uganda and her life was turned completely inside out. She found herself so moved by the people and children of Uganda that she knew her calling was to return and care for them.”  I’m excited to read it!

5.  I just love Cheri from I Am Momma Hear Me Roar and Delia from Delia Creates (don’t we all!?).  They both posted about motherhood in the past couple months, and I loved the posts.  HERE is Cheri’s and HERE is Delia’s.  Of course, I’m sure you all follow them and have read them, but if you are feeling a bit frazzled from motherhood, these are great to read.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by, friends!
