I have a Beatles song stuck in my head at the moment and I’m singing, “I don’t know why you say goodbye I say hello.” I grew up with my Dad listening to the Beatles a lot and I’m happy he did.
I hope you all had a great Christmas! I wasn’t planning on taking this week off but I did and it has been nice.
Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to this Christmas break.
Decorating gingerbread men:
Sleeping by the Christmas Tree watching The Grinch:
Sewing corn (using white hominy) warmers:
And of course enjoying Christmas! I loved going to church on Sunday. I can’t think of a better way to spend Christmas morning!
Our kids’ Santa gifts:
And my little girl finally got a princess dress or two :).
I also wanted to let you know that I won’t have sponsors next year anymore. So take one last look at these fabulous sponsors! I’ve loved working with them, but have decided that if I want to slow down ever, I don’t want to feel unfair to my sponsors and force posting if I’m just not feeling it.
Here’s to 2012! Have a happy and safe New Year!

I was teaching my daughter that song this week! Amazingly, my hubby had never heard it before. Thank you – now I feel a little bit more justified in telling him I’m *not* crazy, it’s a great song ;)

So this might be a duh, but you can also make warmers out of uncooked rice, and then they can also be popped in the freezer as cold packs, way convenient!

I love B’s focused-face, glad my kids aren’t the only ones who look like they are grumpy as a bear when they’re focusing, lol.

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas break! Pretty photos!
I liked going to church on Christmas too. I only wished we had it earlier or later. We had it right smack at 10 am. Which was great for the 80 percent of our ward that has teenagers or are empty nesters but for us, it was a trick. I know we were blessed though, because somehow we opened presents, ate breakfast, got dressed for church and made it 10 minutes early. A Christmas miracle I tell ya. With a lovely Christmas nap that came afterward. :)
Happy New Year Christie. I always look up to you and what a wonderful mother and homemaker you are.

I also loved Christmas Sunday church… but not as much as my hubby & sons who loved it because it was only an hour long. Perhaps the best part was knowing it was out last 9 am church meeting for a year!
