Kids Clothing Week, Project #1

05/11/2010 By Christie

Meg, from Elsie Marley, is having a kids clothes week challenge, where she challenges you to sew clothes for kids an hour a day all week (at least). I love this challenge! My kids are looking forward to what I promised to make for them this week. So I have to do it now since I told them I would. They won’t let me forget, either;).

I bought a 1972 pattern for a little girls smock a couple months ago at a thrift store. 25 cents baby.
It’s obviously too big, even though her body measurements were the same size listed on the back of the pattern. The pattern is a size 3. And it was right. That’s so strange that it would probably fit a 3 year old and it is a size 3 pattern:). Dang measurements–I shouldn’t have even looked at that part, probably! It kind of reminds me of a muumuu dress. My Grandma loves to wear them!

So this fun lil’ dress will be put away for a year, most likely. Then I’ll pair it with some leggings or something. DSCF8816
But it was fun to make, and I love the sleeves and the zipper back. And the cute Hobby Lobby fabric.
