*Since publishing this post, I have also added a file that says Missionary Family, and a version of each that excludes the keychain wording in case you can’t find a keychain that will work. Additionally, there is a version called ‘Sending Them Off’, for those with kids moving out for whatever reason.
We know a lot of families who have a child that has chosen to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My son is working on his mission papers this week. It’s an exciting time! But also one that can be really hard on a momma’s heart (and I’m positive the dad’s heart, as well!). As happy as we are to see them choose to serve the Lord, it is difficult to send them off for many reasons.
This is a kit I put together a few years ago for a couple friends with missionaries out, and one that I put together this week for 3 more friends. You can find many of the items at the dollar store.
I ordered personalized keychains for each mom on Etsy at THIS shop. I love them!
I made a few different downloads–one for the Missionary Mom, or one that says Missionary Family. Another version of Missionary Mom and Missionary Family, but without the keychain wording, in case you can’t find a keychain easily that would fit. There is also one that has a download that has a necklace rather than a keychain (which you can find on Etsy or places like Deseret Book). I also made another kit for my sister and friend who are sending their daughters off to college and struggling with that.
