I think that I was addicted to making these for a while.
I used Anna’s wonderful Scrappy Pouch tutorial (I made another one HERE).
They are great accompanied by a gift card. :)
I’ve had fun making homemade gifts for quite a while now.
But lately I’ve felt really overwhelmed and told my husband that I needed to take a break from making homemade gifts for people. It takes so much time when you factor in how many people are recipients of them (siblings/nieces/nephews/friends/kids/aunts/in-laws/etc.).
Most of the time I feel people really appreciate the extra effort it takes.
But my plate has seemed way too full these days. I’m going to revert back to searching great deals while I’m already out and stocking up on somewhat generic gifts. I’ll miss seeing people open something that I put more thought and effort into!
Hopefully by Christmas I’ll be back in the mood to give handmade gifts!
Joel Dewberry Fabric is from a couple sponsors, Lark Cottons and Lily Bella Fabrics. Zippers from another sponsor, The Zipper Store.

I know, I like to too. But it is difficult. I’m such a perfectionist that I spend way too much time on them.

These are lovely!

I have just started making gifts for people, and it deffinatley does take more time and effort than just picking something up.

Man, I totally know what you mean! I usually try to make things since a lot of the time I have stuff on hand, but sometimes it’s just not worth the extra effort. Cute pouches, and I still need to order some of those zippers-what a great deal!

Theses pouches are so sweet–I’m sure they were well loved!
Anna
they’re lovely, and I totally understand what you mean about handmade gifts!

If you can’t make the presents anymore, you can still give handmade! I love etsy for that specific reason. I also have found people through craftster.org and asked if they would do a commissioned piece. :)

Relly cute bags! yeah I know what you mean though! When you don’t have that much time to begin with it goes fast! I am already trying to think of what I want to make for Christmas now because last year I sewed so much i missed watching christmas movies with the family etc cause I was downstairs trying to sew thier presents! It was too much! So take a break and then be choosy about what gets made. have a good one! Kristy from http://www.apronsandapples.blogspot.com

I completely understand! I’ve cut back to just handmade for the kids and my husband and the occasional friend. It just gets to be too much, unfortunately. Love the bags!
