Purse Week Guest Post: lbg Studio

09/29/2011 By Christie

Some of you might remember lbg studio’s purse/clutch from Purse Week last year.

It was in the top 10 and I liked it so much that I asked Vanessa if she would be willing to guest post during Purse Week this year, and she agreed.  Yay!

She also recently came out with a new pattern!  I LOVE the handle on this clutch!PDF Sewing Pattern - Fold Over Clutch / Tote Bag

Some of Vanessa’s projects include this adorable washi tape gift box.

I’ve been meaning to make a camera strap forever…just can’t decide on the right fabric!  Vanessa has a great strap tutorial with a lens cap pocket as well.

What I love most about Vanessa’s projects is her impeccable sewing skills.  Everything is so polished and her fabric choices are wonderful.  So I am excited to have her as a guest!

Hello everyone! I’m excited to be part of Purse Week – a big thank you to Christie to having me join in. I entered a bag in last year’s contest (definitely a great experience) and this year I’m getting to share a tutorial with you all. I’m Vanessa and I blog at lbg studio. Like many of you, I really got into sewing and blogging after becoming a mama. So, in my “free” time, I’m usually behind a sewing machine, computer, or camera. Some of the first things I made were purses and now I really like trying to come up with my own designs. Today, I’ll be sharing a tutorial for using u shaped purse handles (you can easily add them to just about any of your favorite purse patterns) and I’ll also show you how I created a new bag to show off those handles. Thanks for checking it out and good luck with your entries to the Purse Week contest!

I love this purse Vanessa!  I love the u-handles and the fabric you chose, and all those great pockets!  Such a beautifully constructed purse.  Thanks so much for being a guest blogger today!

Where is the first bag from? Tutorial or pattern, I would love to have it but couldn’t find it?

Joy, the first bag is what she made for purse week last year. I don’t believe she has a pattern for that. It’s great though! Which is why it made the top 10!

I was going to ask the same question, that first clutch is adorable! I wish there was a tutorial or pattern for it!
