St. George

09/15/2011 By Christie

For Christmas my mom and her hubby got us a hotel room in St. George and tickets for Dillon and I to take the boys to the Little Mermaid play.  Such a great present!

We headed out Thursday morning. On our way there, one of the exits (Scipio, for any of those interested) had a petting zoo by the Flying J.  It was so nice to stop and eat lunch there and let the kids have fun.DSC_0312DSC_0267

A zebra!  Although you couldn’t pet it…DSC_0270

The goats you could hold—the rabbits you could hold, if you could catch one (which Dillon did).  There were a few animals that you could get right up to.   The kids loved it.DSC_0295DSC_0298

Then it was to our hotel for some fun.DSC_0327DSC_0330DSC_0338

C was so lucky to have his birthday while we were there.  DSC_0347

We went to Snow Canyon Friday morning.  Very beautiful!DSC_0362DSC_0368DSC_0371DSC_0392DSC_0400

We went on a couple easy hikes.  This one had some pioneer names that we hiked up to.DSC_0427DSC_0430

Once up though, the younger boys and I kind of had a little panic attack, because it was steep and high!  I’m trying to calm C down in the next picture, although I was a little weak in the legs at this point too. DSC_0434

Too bad you can’t tell in the pictures, but do you see B in this picture on that little rock down there?  Yah, it was high.  DSC_0436

But Dillon has no fears, I swear, and got us all down in no time.  It wasn’t so bad after all ;).  Normally I can keep my fear of heights under control, but once the boys were up there and Dillon with B, I kind of had  a little moment of panic that we wouldn’t be able to keep them all safe!DSC_0439

Jenny’s Canyon was so amazing.  I felt like we were in Indiana Jones.DSC_0450DSC_0462DSC_0466

More swimming after the canyon…DSC_0485DSC_0489

… then we ate dinner with family and headed to the play!  Tuachan did an amazing job on The Little Mermaid.  They had some great effects and we all loved it.

And of course before we headed home, we had to drive past the temple!  Isn’t it gorgeous!DSC_0520

A pretty quick trip, but so much fun!

How fun!! And that is probably the best idea for a present ever!! Memories and nothing to clutter/fill up the house!
Although I *think* this post was posted on the wrong blog…?

wow! looks like you had a lot of fun! I can totally relate to your panic attack moment with your boys. I would feel the same if I had my little ones up with me “how will I keep them all safe?” That would throw me over into freaking out.

I love getting gifts like that. Looks like a wonderful time, although I’m pretty sure I would have had a panic attack up there. Yikes that looks high.

I’ve never seen those areas of Snow Canyon. So pretty! And I can’t believe I have lived here for three years and never been to a Tuacahn play. I definitely need to get there eventually. :)
