Summer Journal: Oh, hello.

07/05/2013 By Christie

This girl, oh she is so cute.  She is such a sweet baby and we just love her to pieces. She started smiling at 3 1/2 weeks.

Here she is today at one month old.

And here she was as a tiny little newborn.

Not much difference, right?  She is still so tiny!  She’s just a little less yellow since she’s had jaundice.  Heart babies have a bit of a hard time gaining weight sometimes, but we are trying to get on top of that and do the best we can!

My kids adore her oh so much!  And because I don’t know how much I’ll even be blogging in the future, while we’re at the name sharing, here are my kiddos…

Hope you are all doing wonderfully!

Oh my goodness she’s cute as a bug!! I could eat her all up!
    So beautiful!
My daughter was very tiny and she had not even doubled her birth weight when she was a year old! And today, she’s a little monkey running all over and of normal weight. But I understand that being a concern for you with her surgery coming up… Still praying for you and your family.
    Much love,
    Tammy

Such a little sweetheart!! I’m so glad that your whole family is just soaking up being with that cutie. And I’m super impressed. You are getting to swimming lessons AND doing dishes and laundry only a month after having a baby! Super Woman over at your Lemon Squeezy Home!
    Such a beautiful family!

Hiya. She’s gorgeous. Just wanted you to know that my daughter was a skinny skinny baby – she didn’t have a heart condition like your wee one (and I am sorry Ruby does – it’s so not fair), but was just skinny and didn’t drink much. My husband said she had legs like a pair of strings. Anyway, she’s a happy healthy eight-year-old now – still skinny – but healthy and when Ruby is that age she will be too. Anyway, I wish you all well with the op. I know adults who went through similar ops as babies and they grew up to be really healthy. She will too. Just wanted you to know that we are all rooting for Ruby and you and your family, even though we don’t really know you. Dawn x

She is just gorgeous! I love the fact that your children riotous her when she is crying. From the mouths of babes, eh?

Good luck in getting on top of getting her to gain weight. You are obviously such a loving mom, you will do everything your children need. Keep on keeping on! (And don’t forget to look after yourself as well!)

I didn’t realize your newest is a Tet! She is adorable! My eldest is the only surviving blue Micropreemie Tet I have found (I have found 2 pink MP Tets though).
He is now 3 yo (with a healthy 16mo sister), and has had 2 Open hearts and 2 heart caths

    Glitch..
If you want to know about having a Tet, shoot me a message or check out my blog froginstitches.blogspot.com. Most Tets aren’t hospitalized as much as we are, but I know some of the info should help you. :)
If you haven’t started baby wearing, I highly suggest it. Keeps them happy and you worry free, it also helps regulate their weight, Sats, heart rate, temp and so much more. We had 5.5mo in the NICU to prep for homecoming, so I had time to research these things :)

My Grace was a chicken leg baby forever (she was actually officially a “failure to thrive” baby). She’s still chicken legs and I love it.

Time does go by too fast…
