This Week: 1930’s Decade

06/21/2010 By Christie

I have my dress all cut out and ready to sew but I just need to find some time to do it!  The 1930’s should be fun!  My Dad is visiting from TX this week and will be staying with my family on Wednesday night.  I have a lot of cleaning and preparing to do.  I won’t see him again for a while because he is moving to Thailand where he will marry a sweet lady he met while visiting there.  What a fun adventure he is about to embark on!  I’m sad for him to be so far away, but I am also very excited and happy for him!

Here are the fun flickr pictures from the 1920’s.  As always, thank you for participating.  And if you feel like joining now, come right on along!  :).

My friend Angie posted these cute pics of her girls.  She was inspired by the netting hats in the 20’s and 40’s.  Very cute Angie!  AND, I’d also like to let everyone know that she has recently opened her own shop:  Ryah Sofia.  Beautiful work, Angie!  Go check it out!

Ashely from Bramblewood Fashion shared this pretty white dress.  Check out this link to see her inspiration.
Jenn from My Lavendar Avenue made this incredible dress.  She based it on the movie Thoroughly Modern Millie.  Love that movie!  Love this dress, too!  More pics can be found here.
And finally, Nicole from Create and Delegate made this beautiful hair piece.  You can find more pics here.
Wonderful job, everyone!

P.S.  There are a couple more in the flickr pool –I’m just going to hold onto those until we get to the decade that inspired you:).

Oh the 1930s! I like that decade! Your Dad is moving to Thailand? I so understand the distance; my best friend is over there right now! She has been there for about a year doing mission work. I am so excited she is coming home in September!
Hope you have a great week.
    Through Christ,
    LH
