Hello, and happy Friday!!! Today I’d like to share a few pictures of the amazing wall mural my great friends Camilla and Dustin, from Blue Barn Gallery, painted in my girls’ room. We LOVE it!

Isn’t it amazing?! Oh how I love the girls’ room with this cheery painting. It’s pretty much my favorite room in the whole house now. The chandelier you see pictured is from my Grandpa. He made it years ago and it was hanging in their house until my sweet grandparents both passed away last summer. I was lucky enough to end up with the chandelier and the lamp bases you’ll see in the last picture. I love having something to remember them by in our home.
I sent them pictures of inspiration either they or I had pinned, and my girls had a little input as well. The unicorn and rainbow was Ruby’s request.
Want to know a tidy secret? That bean bag chair is packed with all of their stuffed animals! It’s genius and you can purchase one HERE (affiliate link).
When my boys move out (sadness!!! seriously, let’s not talk about it) the girls will move downstairs to their own rooms and this will be the future playroom for my future grandkids, haha!
Since this pic below is in the dormer, it is so hard to scoot back far enough to get a good shot, plus the window is right next to the rainbow so it kind of washes the cute unicorn out. It’s so super cute though!
My girls love it :).
And finally, pictured below is the Ikea lamp shade I had to finagle to work on these lamp bases from my Grandparents. As you can see, Camilla and Dustin were amazing at painting the fox and hedgehog to look just like it. SO CUTE! And that rabbit?
We built this house ourselves with our bare hands, plenty of blood, sweat, tears, calluses, swear words, etc etc. Ha! That sounds dramatic but man, it is actually pretty freaking true. Except we did have power tools, and lots of them because my husband is a contractor. We also arranged trade work with our friends who were our electrician, our plumber, and our HVAC guy, and hired help to assist with framing, and one guy to help us paint the house. We also had our kiddos on the job site helping frequently in addition to tons of help from family and friends. And we could not have done it without any of those people.
Fun fact: We built a house about 13 years ago, but never moved into it due to employment changes. We thought we were bummed about it, but realized when we moved to our next area how thankful we were to be there and we wouldn’t have ever known :).
Make sure to follow The Blue Barn! They have beautiful watercolor paintings for sale and I will be showing you more of their work on my IG account (@lemonsqueezyhome) soon!
