I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July! We had a blast. And we also had beautiful weather!!! Like in the 70’s. I don’t remember EVER NOT being hot on the 4th, and I actually had goosebumps during the day at times!
Alright folks, I have to be honest with you! I feel like I should have thought things out better. With all the summer plans we all have, this challenge to sew through the decades might have been easier during the winter months, and so if I ever decide to do it again, you can be sure it won’t be during the fun summer months! Maybe after Christmas time or something. We’ll see what the future holds:). But as of now, we are about half way done with the challenge.
I’ve been wanting to blog less and enjoy a simpler life more. I like sewing and blogging, but for a while there I was feeling burned out and like it wasn’t very fun anymore. I’ve been doing some serious reflecting on my role as a wife and mother and what I feel is best for my family, and have decided that things are going to slow down around here–especially after this challenge is over:).
With that being said though, I do enjoy being in contact with so many great people. It is a great creative outlet, this little ol’ blog here. It helps me focus on something that makes me happy. I just need to remember my priorities!
As for the people participating in the challenge! Thank you! I hope you are enjoying it. I’m not sure what I’ll be getting to this week as far as the 50’s go, but really, I am so glad that anyone even wants to play along. I love seeing what you’ve come up with. You are all so talented! I was hoping to make a dress, but this week is starting out with my family camping with Sabra‘s family and I’m pretty excited. I really love to camp. A ton of my favorite memories growing up involve camping.
Ok! Here we go!
Ashley from Bramblewood Fashion made this awesome patchwork skirt. She did a great job! Isn’t it fun? Click here for more pictures and her inspiration photos.

As I was asking myself why I’m up so late blogging and viewing blogs I just saw your post! Another late-nighter in the blogosphere! And your sentiments about priorities and slowing down are what I have been thinking about too. Not that I have been the amazing blogger you have, but it does take so much time and builds up this momentum of it’s own, and I was thinking I had better figure out a balanced rhythm! Good luck with yours! And have fun camping.

I think we’ve all been feeling the strain of the blogosphere lately… my approach is going to be to live life to the fullest and blog about it if and when I feel like it!
Take a break and take the pressure off… we’ll all still be here when you’re ready to return!

I think I know how you feel too…and I am no where near as blogoriffic as you are. Crazy how this can take over a little, huh?
I just wanted to say thank you for linking up to my little party. It made my day that you would take the time to do that.
THANKS again.
Have fun camping!
Sabra
I’m glad you chose camping with us over sewing :) We had a lot of fun, cold and all.
And, as you know, I’m right there with you on the blog/sew/family/priority thing. I’ve been so much happier the last few weeks not worrying about my blog, and just enjoying things as they happen and I have time for them. Though I’ve enjoyed your challenge, I’m excited for you to get through it and get back to having fun with things more.
