bimaa cowl sweater, times two.

This sweater.  Oh this sweater!  It is absolutely adorable.  Agree?  It’s The Bimaa Sweater by EmmylouBeeDoo.  It’s another pattern in the sew fab sale, that goes until October 8th.

I know I’ve pointed it out before, but for $1.15 a pattern it’d be silly to pass up this deal.  Think of all the Christmas presents you could sew up for people!

Bailey adores this deer print and was so excited to try it on.  It fits her really great.  I just used a regular knit jersey with the deer shirt.  The pattern says to use 1.5 yards of fabric for size 5, but I was able to cut it out of one yard.

It’s a super gratifying sew—especially since it looks so much more complicated than it is.  It sews together beautifully and quickly.

The pattern recommends using sweater knit (or something with a four-way stretch).  I had this black and white striped sweater knit in my stash and on a whim, decided to make another bimaa.  I’m so glad I did.

I can’t decide which one I like better, and neither could Bailey.  I had her change out of the deer print and she said she was going to change back into it after pictures.  But once I had her in the stripes, she said she wanted to wear the stripes for that day, and the deer the next day.

The sweater knit is a little harder to sew with, but it’s so soft and drapes so beautifully.

Oh, I love it love it.  I was also able to get this shirt in a size 5 cut out of one yard, but it was cutting it close.  Maybe because it shrunk more in the wash?

They’re awesome! I just finished a stripey Bimaa as well and was Google-ing around for more inspiration and these are lovely! Not done yet with my Bimaa’s ;-)
