I’ve held on to this fabric for a long time just waiting for the perfect project to arise to actually use it. Nursing covers are great because after you are finished nursing, you can use the fabric again for another project because it’s such a big piece of fabric. That’s what I did after I was done nursing Poppy. So a nursing cover this fabric became.
I used Prudent Baby’s nursing cover tutorial. The only change I made was to sew extra close just along the boning, and shortened the longer strap a few inches since I didn’t need it that long.
Another tip: melt the edges of the boning at either end because it is pretty sharp and can work it’s way through the fabric eventually, which means there’d be a hole and no ones want that!
Like I said, TONS of baby prep going on around here!
Sabra at Sew a Straight Line
one of my most favorite fabric lines ever! looks great.
Lynette @ My Craft Discovery
That is really cute fabric! I love how it turned out.
Sew Much Ado
I agree with Sabra, Amy Butler’s early lines are still my favorite ever. And that’s so smart to use the fabric for something else later, I’ve never thought of that!
