Ready for the next decade?

06/06/2010 By Christie

This week is the 1910-1919 decade. I have a couple fun projects, but they are both going to be modernized as I am just going to use what I have–and what I don’t have is 100 year old stuff :) .

I am so excited that I had people participate in the first decade! It was really fun to see what you all came up with. Since this decade didn’t have too many to feature, I decided to just post them all. (If it happens that there are too many one decade, I might not be able to do this).

Oh, and I’ve been meaning to tell you all, you can FOR SURE post something from another decade after we’ve sewed for that time period, even if that’s not the decade we are on. If you just didn’t have time, you can post it later. Just don’t post ahead of time, please:). Also, it would be helpful if you could document what decade your item is from so I know. Thanks!

And now for our features!

Nicole at Cole’s Corner & Creations made this adorable dress. Check out her blog for more pics of her darling model and to see what she used as inspiration.

Crys, from He’s Got My Whole World In His Hands, made this beauty. Don’t you just want one just like it to wear!?

Chrissy from There are UFO’s Under My Stairs made the cutest knickerbockers for her little girl!
Ashley, from Bramblewood Fashion is having her own fun fashion challenge called Anne of Green Gables Fashion Week (hasn’t started yet). But she made this apron and it fit perfect with the first decade challenge!
And although I’ve featured the next two already, it never hurts to see some cute little boys in bow ties and a beautiful dress.
Sabra from Sew a Straight Line made these bow ties and submitted them to the pool for the first decade, and it of course fits perfectly.
And we saw this beautiful dress a couple days ago made by Nicole from Create and Delegate. Still in love with it:).

fun, thanks for posting all the pics! I told myself I wouldn’t make something for every decade but this just too much fun, we’ll see…

These projects look great! I’m working on one, but struggling a bit…so I’ll share it a little later. :)

I hope I can participate by leaving my blog address here. I have no Flicker account and do not wish to get one.

I made a dress for my little one last week, but getting pictures and posting them took a while ;)

You can find out more here.
