I just needed to write a post praising Disney for all the inspiration she has given me, and so many others. Her beautiful personality was able to shine through with each and every post. Her ability to share her talent with so many people was amazing. Her style was stunning, beautiful, and sometimes just fun! She gave so much of her time and creativity to us. My most favorite part of her blog were her amazing photos. I LOVE her pictures. She continues to be an inspiration to me and I thank her for that.
Without being asked, she linked to my blog in it’s beginning stages and really helped me out—more than I can say. She was just being herself—a giving, caring, sweet person.
I’ve had an idea for a belt for a few months, that was inspired by Disney. It was inspired by her scrunch belt that is so cute, and is made in a similar way, with elastic. But I lacked motivation to ever make it and wasn’t sure of all the details. After her post, I was trying to think of something that would show her how much I appreciate her help with my blog and for all her awesome creations. And I was finally motivated to create the belt.
Disney, this belt is my tribute to you. You’ve sparked my creativity in so many ways. So here it is: The Disney Belt.
You’ll need:
1/4” wide elastic x the measurement around your waist (measure comfortably around your waist)
fabric: 8” x 1.5 – 2 times the measurement of your elastic
bow or flower
Take each short edge of your fabric, fold over 1/4” inch, then 1/4” again and sew.
Fold in half the long way, right sides together, and sew 1/4” seam.
Turn right side out and maneuver the seam to be in the center.
Your elastic will be threaded through the middle. So along either side of the seam, making sure that your elastic will be able to thread between your lines.
Here are my sewn lines along either side of the middle seam.
Thread elastic through. Sew elastic down to make it stay on either end. (I actually threaded through until the other end of the elastic NOT attached to the safety pin was about to disappear, and sewed that end down before threading the elastic through the rest of the way. That way it wasn’t going to get lost in there.)
Sew the hooks onto the bow (or flower). Sew bow onto one end of the belt. Then determine where you want the eyes and sew them onto the other end of the belt. OR you can just safety pin it like I did for the pictures ;).
Thank you for all you’ve done to inspire so many people, Disney! You are a beautiful person, inside and out :). I know we’ll still see you around.
P.S. I in no way created this belt to get traffic to my blog. I would hate to think that anyone would assume that, since I think I’ve got some pretty sweet readers, but I just want to clarify that.
It is simply my way of saying thank you to Disney. Because she deserves it.

I just love this! I was sad to read she was stopping her blog since I’ve only found her (and you, and all of these amazing craft blogs) in the last couple of weeks. Your Disney belt just captures the essences of who she is: Graceful, beautiful, feminine and ruffly.
Well done!
