This dress was thrifted for $6.00. It’s a Downeast dress, but it was a tad too short. It has a lining, so this was a super easy fix. All I did was find a matching yellow fabric, sewed it onto the lining, and hemmed it up. Super super quick and easy fix.
One of my most favorite things to do is find items of clothing at the thrift store or on a deep clearance and fix them!
I have many many more clothing items that I’ve done this with, and I’ll slowly add them to my ‘Mended ‘posts!
On a side note, does anyone else start to feel overwhelmed just by the things they want to do but never have time for, let alone all the things that have to be done and should be done? I have such different plans in my head for life with my family, life with my friends, and also for this blog, but they just don’t happen the way I picture it. I guess the important thing is that I’m doing the best I can, although I will be the first to admit I can work on managing my time better. I can say that I am pretty darn happy with the life I have. My brain just works overtime and stresses me out, I guess.
P.S. I’m pretty sure our computer needs some major help. It’s been acting really strange and is going downhill fast. I’m betting that when this posts, I’ll be without a computer. Here’s hoping it’s back and working by Purse Week!

I have a skirt from down east that ended up a little short. I’ve been meaning to add fabric on like you did, but since the skirt doesn’t fit my post baby hips, I may just gift it to my sister! :)

Great fix. I have a difficult time executing all of the plans that I have running around in my head as well. I don’t know if it is unrealistic expectations, or an inability to focus. It’s frustrating. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with ideas that it’s hard for my to even start on something.

Totally adorable dress, and YES, I absolutely feel like there is never enough time for all I want & need to do! Yet here I sit, reading blogs…. hmmmm…. =)

1. That dress is SO CUTE on you! What a great find!
2. I totally feel the same way! When my husband dumped out all our laundry baskets last night just to find his basketball shorts (worn last week) I realized I needed to work on my priorities, especially religious ones… not that laundry and religion really go together but it made me pause and reflect on my life.

Yes, I am always feeling like I can never do all the things I need to do, much less all the things I want to do! (So much knitting, so little time…) But I guess we need to focus on what needs to be done and who we spend our time with.
Love the mended dress – you have a good eye for things that can be adjusted for you!

well, a friend of mine’s father said that we had vast ideas and half-vast ambition. (ssay that one fast a couple of times.) he was trying to make us laugh and realize that everyone has the same 24 hr/day and everyone has to figure out their own priorities. scheduling seemed to work best at keeping the have-tos caught up and the other time was so mch more pleasantly spent on the semi-have-tos.

It almost depresses me all that I want to do…so many fun things out there and I never seem to get to them all. Same with books. So many good books to read, but never enough time.

My brain is always on overload with the things I would like to do and do not have the time to do. It’s a bit of a curse sometimes. But you are right; we do the best we can.
