I LOVE sewing leggings. Love it. They are such a fast sew and can make a huge impact on an outfit!
I’m excited for KCW over here. Not because I have grand plans on sewing like mad, but because my kids enjoy what I sew for them. I have to admit, I really love seeing my projects on them. It’s fun to look around and realize that all or most of your kids have something on that you made. And I love it even more when it was something that took about 15 minutes total time, like leggings!
I bought a few yards of different polyester lycra knit blends on Fabric.com, kind of by mistake not knowing what it was. I was a little disappointed when it arrived. But I’ve since discovered that polyester lycra blends are fab for leggings. I made some leggings for Bailey with it already on THIS post. I also made Ruby some shirts out of it on THIS post.
What are your plans for KCW? I’ve got pj’s on my list, a little jumper outfit for Ruby (which is finished but needs snaps), and maybe one other thing. I also might finish up a shirt for myself to complete this weeks theme for Project Sewn. I have half my “look” finished but just need the shirt now. Nothing incredible, again, just quick sews because that’s how we roll around these parts. I am excited to be inspired by what everyone is sewing! How about you?

(This was going to be the world’s longest Instagram comment, but then I got distracted by all the beautiful things on here and can’t find my way back to my original post :/ oops!)
1- These leggings are adorable. And so are your girls. And your whole family.
2- The heart warrior costume you made for your baby is awesome. Seriously, the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. And I might have to be a copycat if my girl gets to come home before Halloween.
3- I’m a heart-momma, too. And I think you live in the Salt Lake area?! Baby girl and I are in Las Vegas for the time being, but my hubby goes to school at the U, and we’re hoping to reunite our family soon. Which leads me to…
4- I’m assuming you are familiar with the cardiology team at Primary Children’s? (but assuming is wrong, so I’m just plain hoping!) my daughter doesn’t have TOF, but she’s 3-months old and currently recovering from her second open heart surgery. IF you have any advice or thoughts or opinions or anything really, on the doctors in SLC I would definitely appreciate whatever you can share!
5- I have been surfing your blog for about an hour, being a totally creeper, so I’m sorry if I’m coming off as a crazy person, but I’m not! If you want to make sure I’m not as psycho as I seem, or read the bazillion things I’ve written about life before/during/after open heart surgery, my ublog is “sydneylovesjohn dot blogspot dot com”. Or if you just have any questions in general about the whole thing, my e-mail is “sydney.w.orr at gmail dot com”.
6- I think I read somewhere that they’ll wait to do the genetic testing on your daughter during her surgery next month? (again, total creeper status, I’m sorry if I’m freaking you out.) My daughter has diGeorge syndrome, not that we can test for a whole lot of the effects that it may or may not have caused at 3-months, but if you have any questions or concerns about that, I will totally sit down and tell you that I have no idea what it even means, and as long as your baby is happy and healthy not to stress about it at all!!
But really, I’d love to pick your brain about Utah, and offer any help or support I can to you and your family in return. I’m praying for your sweet baby girl!! — Sydney
