I chose to make Bailey the Darling Daisy Dress pattern. Here’s what the original pattern looks like:
So cute, right? I love how you can really showcase some fun, coordinating fabrics with this pattern. I chose to keep things pretty simple and just made a couple changes to an already beginner friendly pattern.
I made the size 5 for Bailey and stuck with just two fabrics, so instead of doing the third tier I added the length of the third tier to the second one and hemmed it at the bottom.
I also used pre-made bias tape and rather than using elastic in the neckline, I just took off some inches on the bias tape until it fit about right, leaving about 2.5” for the shoulder section not attached to the bodice front or back (see picture below). I added a small pleat in the front and back since it wouldn’t be gathered by the elastic neck on the original pattern.
And now she has a fun new dress that really took me so little time to sew, especially with the pre-made bias tape! If you are a beginner or are looking for a quick project with cute results, this is the pattern for you!
Also it’s perfect for doing yoga ;).
Thanks for having such a fun pattern out, Melissa! You can get her pattern HERE, along with some other cute patterns!
